Understanding the requests tab

Sports Bridge is loaded with great features for recruiting for your teams and the Requests tab is one of the most powerful.
Lets get in there and break it down.

When you look at your requests they are broken up into rows, these rows contain all the information about the request you’ve received. These rows can be expanded and collapsed to show more in-depth information.

Simply click the row or the arrows on the right of the row to expand or close the view.

While the collapsed row gives us information at a glance like the parents contact information, the expanded view gives us access and the ability to update and change content.

We’ll start on the left and work our way across of one of the expanded views.

Request ID.

This is a unique ID assigned to each request you receive, this way you can keep track on requests via the ID or if you need to contact Sports Bridge regarding a request you’ve received this is the ID we’ll need to view from our side.

Next up is the Request Message. This is the custom message parents enter into the tryout request form when they viewed your teams profile.
Player Birth Year

This is the selection a parent makes when filling out that same tryout request form. This is important to note because a parent may be requesting a tryout for your team but the players birth year may not match your teams age range.

Now we move onto Status.

Status is just a way of helping you to stay organized with your requests. You can see at a glance, color coded, tags that represent where you are in the recruiting process with that player.

You can update them as you move your way through recruiting with each player, simply click on any of the tags and they’ll update in the top section of that row.

This becomes really useful as let’s say for example, a parent wants their child to tryout for your team but you cannot accommodate that player until next season. Go ahead and select the Next Season tag, now when you look through your recruitment requests next season, you can just scan for any rows with the blue Next Season tag and reach out to those parents.

Just had a first conversation with a parent, great keep on top of things and add the First Conversation tag.

We’ve started off with the above tags, but if you can think of any other tags that you’d like to see in here let us know! We’re always on the lookout for ways to improve Sports Bridges.

Last up is comments.

Status is great for seeing color coded tags at a glance, but what about when you want to add more in-depth information and use your own words. Well that’s what comments are for!

Add any comments about your communication with the parent, or anything you think is relevant to that players tryout experience. Each time you add a comment and hit submit your comment will be saved and the date will show next to it, helping you stay organized when it comes to checking back on a parents communication.

Need to delete a comment, no problem. Go ahead and click the red x and it’s gone.

These comments get saved into each tryout request row. So when the weeks and months go by and you have tons of tryouts to deal with, looking back at older requests becomes a lot easier when you can see your comments and add new ones as you go along.
