To get started with creating and posting events navigate to the Club Events tab in your club account.
If this is your first event you are creating this screen will be blank.
You have two options to choose between, a Tryout event or a Tournament event, you can choose between the event type you’d like to create by toggling between the two at the top of the page.
The button in the top right will change based on the event type you select. For this example we will go with a Tryout event. So we can go ahead and click the ‘Add Tryout Event’ button.
Here we have a few items to fill out to get our tryout live on our club profile and the teams we choose.
To start we’ll add a name for our tryout. We’ll enter, ‘FC Flamingos Boys 08 Tryouts’. You can enter anything here you like.
You’ll also notice that the preview card shows the information we’re entering live as we enter it.
A URL is the registration URL for your event, or a webpage with more information. This link is what will open when parents click the button on the event card.
A cover image gets saved to your event in the backend and will show when our search network goes live, for now no images show on the event cards, but they will soon!
Zip code, this allows you select the location of your event and when your zip code has been entered we’ll do an automatic check on the zip and find the right city for that zip and you’ll notice on the right teams popping up.
The teams that show here are the teams that fall within the zip code radius of the event that we’re creating, all of these teams will have an event card appear on their profile with the details of the event we are creating. This team event card will disappear when our event expires. More on that later.
If there are teams that we don’t want our event to appear on, maybe our tryouts is for boys only so we don’t want our event appearing on any of our girls teams. To remove teams from displaying our event we can click the ‘View all teams’ button and a popup will open with all of the teams in that zip code.
We can see all of those teams now and also have a delete button to remove any teams we don’t want our event appearing on.
Now we’ve added our zip and removed any teams we don’t want our event appearing on, we can move onto address. City will be automatically added for you, so just add your events city.
Add the age range from and to. In our example we’re creating a tryout event for ‘FC Flamingos Boys 08 Tryouts’ so we’ll select the age ‘from’ 2007 and ‘to’ 2008. Then lastly here, the gender so we’ll select ‘Boys’.
Finally our last section is dates. We can select multiple dates for our event if the event spans over multiple days. For our tryout we will just enter one date, then we can choose the time of the event to finish it off.
Any dates that we add can be removed line by line with the delete button to the right.
Now we’ve filled out all of our information, here is how our form looks with everything filled out.
Our event card shows all of our events details so we can check to see how the event will look on our profile to parents.
If everything looks good we can go ahead and click ‘Save and Post’.
We will see the above popup to confirm that our event has been published and is live on our club profile and any teams that we choose to appear on.
We’ll close this popup for now and we’ll get directed back to the events tab.
Here we’ll see the event being represented with a few options. We see how many teams our event is appearing on, how many views our event has had across Sports Bridge, the status of the event. We also have two buttons, one to edit the event, and a second to delete the event all together.
Any events you create will automatically expire the day of your event to keep things all up to date for you. You can see how many days your event has left with the light grey box that shows ‘Expires in X days’. Once the event expires it will be removed from your profile and your teams profiles.
With our new event created and published we can view our profile to see how it looks.
To view your club profile, navigate to the ‘View Club Profile’ tab.
We can see our events that are live at the bottom of our profile. In this example we have two tryout events that are live and one tournament event, and we can also see how the different events look visually in their card form on our club profile.
